  Script to output differing file properties as XML Reply Contact I've mailed a submission to Mike for inclusion in the repository that uses Log Parser to obtain a variety of properties for a list of files from one or more directory hierarchies. All three of which (i.e. the properties, the files and the directories) are configurable by a user simply by modifying the content of two XML files. Until Mike has a chance to review it's suitablility, I'm making this post in the interim to make the code available for downloading. If this contravenes a poilcy on the forum then please remove this posting! The html document within the zip file may explain the purpose a little more clearly than this brief message. David Manley

I'm involved in a project where there are a large number of directories/files and nobody has a clue as to what files are where and what they contain. I'm using the code to scan given directory hierarchies and obtain key information about the files (e.g. last modified date, who the author was, what the title of the document is, whether the document has been assigned a project document number, ...). Reply Contact Updated vbs to enable correct handling where file name included a comma (,) or single quote ('). The link in the previous posting now points to an updated zip file with the corrected script. David.
