    iis for dummies?

     hi -

i just discovered iis today and am having an awful time with it-

i seem to have set up a default page and if i select browse from the iis manager "http://localhost/test/" pops up - so ive got that far

but i dont get HOW people are suppose to connect to the page   ??

i typed my ip in a broswer but nothing happens - just connection timed out

sorry - im pretty dumb about this - all i want to do is make a page on my pc that someone can connect to and browse (specified) files on my pc...

    thanks for any tips

Have you just tired http://localhost/test/ in your browser on you local machine? If that works then the page can be reached, using http://ipaddress here/test/

I understand your current state. I request you to have a look at this article. It gives you all the basic concenpts of IIS.
