Connect to a server 2003 from IIS 7

I am assuming I can connect to IIS 6 on server 2003 from IIS 7 running on Vista, but I don't see how I add an additional connection. Is this even possible? If so, can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Hey,

You are correct that you can do this - albeit it slightly tricky.  In order to do it you will need to install the legacy IIS Manager and you can then establish a connection to non-IIS7 servers.  I wrote this blog post awhile back that should get you going - http://blogs.iis.net/chrisad/archive/2007/01/03/managing-iis-6-0-servers-from-windows-vista-and-other-management-stuff.aspx

    Thanks,

    Thank you. Worked very easily.

Whats the trick to connecting to another IIS 7 server? I don't see any option to add a connection.

No problem - glad you got it working.

You can't use the IIS Manager that shipped on Vista as that functionality was fully working by the time it RTM'd.  Instead, though, you can download the latest IIS Manager on IIS.NET that will bring you up to the B3 version of the tool and it has this capability.

    Download Here
