Well, I just post it here because..... the issue is one of windows hosting.
The scenario I do use is particularly the one out of the iis web hoster guide, using a UNC share. So, I consider this to be definitly at least an omission of information on the hosting guide. Do you know the support group / forum where to take this as an OS issue?
What I DO different is that I do have the file store on - a windows 2003 R2 server. Given that I have an existing infrastructure customers use, I did not think anything bad about accessing the files from my old location. I did not even know there is a SMB 2.0 coming. I jsut thought it is nice that existing customers can be repoint their site to longhorn without any additional changes. The hosting guide says nothing about registry key changes.
I made the registry changes from the kb article that should raise this limit (and it works on 2003R2 - i have them in a batch file for new web servers), but they do get ignored.
So, where is a good place to post this os level question?
