Unable to change IIS6 loging options

    Hi,

This is a bit of a wierd one!  We have IIS6 on Win2k3 Std Ed.

We were evaluating some log monitoring tools that integrated with IIS but didn't really like them so removed them. But we now have one little side effect.

On the default website, We prefer to have the log files go to C:\Logs and a schedule of monthly but no matter what we do they remain at C:\WINDOWS\system32\LogFiles with a schedule of daily.

If we check the Logging properties of the default site it looks ok (ie c:\Logs & monthly) but these values are just being ignored and the default website is using the original defauls of daily and "C:\WINDOWS\system32\LogFiles"

We've tried disabling logging starting and stoping the site, starting and stopping IIS and even rebooting the server but we are unable to affect the logging.

Apart from this little issue we have no problems with IIS or the Windows 2k3 Server.

    Regards

    Mark

    1) Have you verified the logging options on the default website and the 'websites' folder.  This still might be set to the old location

    2) Is this an ISAPI product?  You can use process explorer by sysinternals to see if the dll's are still loaded. this should provide an idea if the product is still in-use.

    3) look in the c:\windows\system32\inetsrv\metabase.xml to see what is set in the metabase.

    Hope that provide some options.
