    Stabilising download speeds

    Hi All,

I have a query regarding the increase of the MaxBytesPerSend and MaxBufferedSendByte registry values. Having adjusted these values, I have noticed a considerable increase in download speeds, compared to the original values. However the speeds are not very consistent, i.e. initally the download speeds may be 3mbps and after a while it reaches the theoretical maximum of around 7mbps. The speed differences do not show a consistent level of instability either, as I have also downloaded the same file again and I receive speed increases at different stages of the download.

Now my question is, how can I maintain a steady download rate? Is there any other setting I can play around with to help make it stable? If you have anymore questions regarding this then let me know. Otherwise I will look forward to your solutions.

(PS: im using IIS 6.0 on windows server 2003 SP1

     Thanks
