Somehow, my vista ultimate refused to let me reinstall IIS 7!!!!!!
What I did:
a) reviewing all relevant .confg and schema files
b) out of sudden - appcmd.exe not working 8007000d or some error like that
c) restart IIS services - open iis web ui - it complaints about duplicate entries in apphost.config
d) review the .config file. nothing wrong. I even replaced it with the backup copy I created before (a)
e) give up - so uninstall it. Took years!!!! and my windows experience index is 5.3! top of the line :)
f) force a reboot - then uninstall again.
g) reboot again - try reinstall - turn windows feature on and off - all components. Hecks. Took years again - setup not complete - bla bla
h) repeat g x 3
i) try command line with package manager. waited 1 hr, same error.
j) then today - try again. a) to i) was recorded 2 days ago.
Now, what's the deal? why is it so slow? I attached the iis7.log.
