IIS 5.x / IIS 6 FastCGI Technical Preview - Known Issues

    Locked Reply Contact

The known issues / limitations below affect only CGI programs running on top of the FastCGI technical preview for IIS 5.x / IIS 6, and do not affect other server components like the static file handler, ASP, or ASP.NET:

    1. Http POSTs over 1 Mb are not supported.  This prevents large file uploads to CGI programs, like PHP, from working in this release.

    2. Http responses larger then 1Mb are not supported.  This prevents large file downloads from CGI programs, like PHP, from working in this release.

    3. The TCP FastCGI protocol is not supported.  This prevents certain FastCGI programs that rely on the TCP FastCGI transport from working - including Python.  PHP is not affected.

    4. Certain PHP configuration directives may cause an 0x800703e3 error when using the FastCGI technical preview.  For more information, see http://forums.iis.net/thread/1451408.aspx.

    5. PHP 4.0 may hang under request load.  A workaround is available here:  http://forums.iis.net/ShowThread.aspx?PostID=1452687&PermaPostID=1452687#1452687

These limitations will be addressed in the next release.

The issues below have been fixed in a previous update, included in the current release:

    1. The fcgisetup.js /r /uninstall command will cause loss of ScriptMaps.  This issue is fixed in the current FastCGI download.

The updated build is available on the main FastCGI download page.

If you encounter other issues, please use this forum to post it.

    Thanks,
