    IIS7 on Vista RC1

I upgraded Vista from Beta 2 to RC1.  I'm trying to enable IIS, but it simply says "An error has occurred.  Not all features were successfully changed".  And it reports this in the Event Log.  Can anyone help?

About the only help I can pass on is that I upgraded but with IIS installed before the upgrade and it worked fine.  I had other issues (drivers) that made me wipe the test system and install RC1 from scratch, and everything worked fine there as well.  Well, except some of my driver issues are still issues...  :(

I'd recommend restalling from scratch vs. upgrading.  Unless you are determined in finding the root cause, you'll probably spend less time troubleshooting.  Both my B2 machines I formatted and reloaded w/o issues.  I didn't perform an upgrade.

Sorry about that - IIS7 does not support upgrade from Beta 2 to RC1.

As Steve points out, it is much safer to clean install Vista/IIS.

I could swear I've got a Vista Beta 2 to RC1 upgrade where IIS works.  Now I need to go back and check that.

My problems have been with XP to RC1 upgrades, none of them have been pretty and scratch installs have been far better.  Maybe if XP were installed and then immediately upgraded, but we've been testing on systems from two to four years old and had all kinds of problems.

Well, I can't remember if I had IIS installed before the upgrade (I've had a few different installs over the last few months) but it won't let me install it now.

as bill mentioned, I HIGHLY recommend you clean install RC1 and not upgrade.  Unfortunately upgrades from Beta2 to RC1 are not supported.
