There are many cool features in Windows Vista that might make one developer happy over another. For President of ASPSoft Jonathan Goodyear, though, it is clear he sees IIS7 as a difference maker for many developers who will use Windows Vista.
"I'm really looking forward to Internet Information Services 7," says Goodyear in his article "The IIS7 Difference for AspNetPro.com". "It is true that IIS7 offers many new features for IT Administrators, but it offers a ton of features tailored for the ASP.NET developer."
Goodyear goes on to justify this opinion by explaining some of the changes coming in IIS7. In fact, Goodyear notes that he feels that some of these changes are just what the doctor ordered for Web developers.
"Two years ago, I felt not enough people were building custom ASP.NET modules." This untapped market trapped developers and he expressed this view two years ago. Today, that vision sits at the foundation of IIS7, and he expects that this will create "a great opportunity for third-party custom IIS and ASP.NET module markets to come to fruition."
