Acquia Drupal not available on Vista Home Basic or Windows XP

The Microsoft Web Platform Installer is unable to install Acquia Drupal on Vista Home Basic due to an error in the feed. I was able to verify that it works just fine on Vista Home Basic by adding it in a custom feed. According to the installation page, Acquia Drupal also supports Windows XP, but the same error in the feed prevents it from being installed there.

The error is either that the application metadata osList value for the installer is SupportedAppPlatformsExcludeXP or that the osTypes value for NoXPSupport lists individual types instead of simply Client and is missing HomeBasic: https://www.microsoft.com/web/webpi/4.5/webapplicationlist.xml

I am trying to install Moodle from the Windows Web app pages and the installation fails with the error message : The specified password for user account 'SA'/'root' is not valid or failed to connect to the database server. The potential solutions offered below do not work. Any help gratefully received

Can I pack ASP Application for the Windows Web Application Gallery ?

I am one of Z-Blog developers. Z-Blog is the most popular blog program written in ASP(not .NET) language in China. Now I would like to submit that to the Windows Web Application Gallery, while I cannot find any instructions about ASP in 'Windows Web Application Gallery Principles'.

My question is: Can I submit programs developed with ASP language? If so, are there any special notes?

Drupal Commerce - don't have permission

Do not know if this topic is for here, so advance please excuse me if I'm wrong.
After much trouble I could to install Drupal Commerce with WPI, but the following problem occurs:
folder inetpub, wwwroot and all included golder is "Read only" and I can not install modules or themes.
My OS is Windows 7 Ultimate, I am administrator, but I can't change permission for this folder.
So please, can anyone advise me what to do?

VS2010 WebDeploy package validation fails during WebApp gallery submission

I have an application deployment package that I built with Visual Studio 2010 and have successfully tested using WebDeploy on IIS7. I generated the checkum using MS checksum generator (command: fciv filename -sha1). When I submit the package to the WebApp gallery, both steps in the package validation fail.

Do I need to do anything else to the package apart from build it using VS2010? Have I made a mistake with the checksum generator?)

I am doing a Drupal site for an organization and they have space on a host using Windows Server 2008 r2. I am trying to use the current version of Webmatrix, but I am running into problems. I don't know what is irrelevant, so I am going to just list some things. * Windows 2008 r2 for a host. * I am getting an error. --------------------------- Microsoft Web Application Gallery --------------------------- The source is invalid. Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES) --------------------------- OK --------------------------- I filled in all the text boxes with the relevant info / pws. Can someone point me to documentation about Drupal, Windows Server 2008 r2, Webmatrix? Also how do I fix the above error message?

What is the best way to start my wordpress install from scratch ? Should I begin by uninstalling all the software that the web platform installed for me ? Does anyone have an opinion on this ?

Need help installing Joomla on WIMP

Hello, I need help with the following Install on Vista SP2.

Software used...
IIS7 FastCGI Update KB980363 v2
IIS7 Administration Pack
PHP NTS Win32 v5.32
MySql Essential Win32 v5.1.48
MySql GUI Tools Win32 v5.0 r17

All of above installed successfully and working under IIS7 with FastCGI enabled.

The problem is with the installation of 'Joomla Full v1.518' - am following these instructions...

It fails after submitting the database information at Step 5 from above link - it churns aways and only ever returns a blank page instead of the FTP Configuration page shown at Step 6.

I suspect it is a permisssions issue because nothing is getting wrtten to the 'configuration.php' file as laid out in the instructions. I've enabled read and write for IIS_IUSERS and also tried giving full control to both users and system administrators but to no avail.

Any recommendations appreciated.../thanx John

SQL Wordpress DB help

OK, this is either going to be really simple or Ill have people pulling their hair out like me.

I created a local wordpress site - updated it all, looks great etc etc.

I exported the pages and posts and backed up my data (in prep for making local to live)

I changed my config file etc so it all points - all great and working

I can now get onto my admin of the site - in live mode (ie on my own domain)

However.... none of my pages appear.

My problems are two-fold

1) my pages and posts dont appear on the live site - although my plug ins do. I though perhaps something has happened to my local sql database that webmatrix stores in the appdata folder. - No such database (but I can see it in webmatrix with all my wonderful posts....)

I did a test by creating a new database and low and behold, it appears in an appdata folder - - still mine (called wordpress) doesnt appear.

The icon next to it also looks different from the one I just created - see image.

Does anyone know where my database would be (tried searching for the widest paramenters *sql *sdf, wordpress, word etc etc

Or am I missing something really obvious?

2) I thought, thats ok, If i can import my xml file I will not need to local database BUT I cannot import my xml file as it keeps telling me there is an http API request error. I have contacted my server and they are of no help - namesco. - any ideas much appreciated - tried changing time out to 30 from 5 etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I created my xml feed by hand by copy and paste, added it in the gui of the WPI 3.0 (options page), and my product did not show up.

I dug in the logs of the WPI 3.0 installer to see which urls it used to get its own apps list (the urls in the aforementioned blog post are out of date), got the actual current xml feed, copied it locally and edited it to include my app, but it still did not show up.

I tried launching wpi putting the path/url to my xml feed on the command line, but it seems to be ignored - while std list of apps still shows up.

I tried by deleting all wpi caches, and running wpi on the cli with pc offline. Result: wpi refuses to start - even though I pass to it the path to my custom feed file...

Any help woul be appreciated

Can't install Joomla due to mySql problems

So I have been trying to install Joomla on my Win7 machine for a couple days and can't seem to get it done. For whatever reason it never likes the MySQL install or database and it usually has to do with the root password. I have uninstalled MySQL a number of times and tried to reinstall using the web app product but each time it bombs. I think there is some sort of problem where I am doing something wrong during the installation where the installer ask you for a root password and then later on it asks again. But I have tried numerous times and always made the passwords the same and still no luck. The last time I tried the error was that the database couldn't be created because of the root password. Any suggestions? Anyone else have this problem?

I'm packaging an application for webPI and I need to use the Virtual Directory name to update some parameters. Here is the relevant excerpt of my parameters.xml file :

The problem is : AppPath contains "Default Web Site/SF2" and I just need "SF2" to do the replacement in my routing table. How can I get the VDir name and only that ? I went through the documentation and did not find anything that could help me.

it is possible to enable the Multisite option in Wordpress? I included the line "define('WP_ALLOW_MULTISITE', true)" in wp-config.php, but when I enter the option Tools -> Network, I get an error.

Wordpress install on Server 2003 with IIS6 not working

Installed using Web Platform Installer, install completed with no errors.

However, when trying to browse page displays "Page cannot be displayed" error.

I have successfully installed on a Server 2008 / IIS 7 system without this issue. Not sure where to begin looking in IIS 6 for problems.

PHP 5.2.14 and CA certs

I just installed PHP 5.2.14 via WPI. Using the curl extension, I'm getting a cert verification error accessing https://feedburner.google.com (but not in IE8 on the same box, or in my LAMP environment).

Is the list of trusted root CAs compiled into the PHP for Windows build, or can it be updated via some external file?

I can workaround this temporarily by setting CURLOPT_CAINFO to point to a local copy of cacert.pem (extracted from Mozilla's CA cert bundle), but it would be nice if PHP used a system copy that is auto-updated.
